Responsibilities of Students

Wherever we find a group of people working, learning or playing together, experience demonstrates that a code of behaviour is necessary. The code establishes clear parameters of acceptable behaviour so that the environment is fair and just to all participants. School is no exception. Therefore the following rules will promote a happy, co-operative and Christian learning environment.

  • Attend school with a positive attitude to learning.
  • Use language that is pure, kind and truthful and respectful.
  • Demonstrate behaviour that is kind, courteous, and respectful of the feelings and rights of others.
  • Abstain from foods and drugs that may be harmful to their body.
  • Look after school property and report any damage to a classroom teacher.
  • Refrain from bringing onto the school property any substance or item that may be used to hurt or injure others, or damage school property.
  • Remain on the school property during school hours.
  • Have equipment ready for class.
  • Complete homework assignments as set.
  • Look after any personal belongings brought to school.

    Responsibilities Of Parents

    Parents are requested to assist in the school’s operation by:

    • Praying for our school: students, teachers, support staff and associated families
    • Promoting Christian values
    • Complying with guidelines outlined in this handbook
    • Supporting and encouraging children to do their best in school
    • Supporting the Home & School Association in its various ventures through the year
    • Providing help for school projects eg cleanup days
    • Maintaining open communication with teachers
    • Responding to requests and surveys promptly
    • Paying all accounts as soon as possible, and when necessary, informing the School Board of delays and expected settlement dates
    • Checking homework
    • Ensuring that students are dressed in correct uniform – properly worn
